Discover Restaurant Oasis

If you’re driving through La Nucía and suddenly feel that familiar pull toward good food and a relaxed vibe, Restaurant Oasis at Avinguda de la Marina Baixa, 55, Local 1, 03530 La Nucia, Alicante, Spain, is the kind of place that makes you slow down and stay awhile. I’ve eaten here several times over the past year-once after a long hike in the Sierra Helada area and another time with friends visiting from the UK-and each visit felt consistent, warm, and genuinely satisfying.

The first thing that stands out is the atmosphere. It’s casual but polished, with a bright dining room and a terrace that fills up quickly during sunny afternoons. La Nucía has grown steadily in recent years, and according to Spain’s National Statistics Institute (INE), the Alicante province continues to see strong tourism and expat residency numbers. That mix shows up here. On any given evening, you’ll hear Spanish, English, Dutch, and Norwegian spoken across the tables. Yet despite the international crowd, the service feels personal and grounded in Mediterranean hospitality.

The menu is broad without being overwhelming. You’ll find classic Spanish tapas-patatas bravas, grilled padrón peppers, and fresh calamari-alongside hearty mains like ribeye steak, seafood paella, and grilled sea bass. On one visit, I ordered the house paella, and what impressed me most was the texture of the rice. It had that slightly crispy base known as socarrat, which chefs and culinary schools often describe as a marker of properly cooked paella. The balance of saffron, seafood stock, and fresh shellfish was spot on. A friend chose the homemade burger, and the kitchen didn’t shy away from quality ingredients: thick-cut beef, toasted brioche bun, and crisp local vegetables.

Nutrition and ingredient quality matter more than ever. The Mediterranean diet, recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage, emphasizes olive oil, fresh vegetables, legumes, fish, and moderate portions of meat. You can see those principles reflected in many of the dishes here. Salads are vibrant and generously portioned, and grilled options dominate the menu, which makes it easier to choose lighter meals without sacrificing flavor.

What I appreciate most is how the team handles busy service. On a Saturday evening in July, the restaurant was nearly full. Still, the staff kept a steady rhythm-orders taken promptly, drinks refreshed without asking, and dishes arriving hot. In hospitality management, consistency is often the hardest thing to maintain, especially during peak tourist season. Restaurant Oasis seems to have figured out a reliable process: clear communication between front-of-house and kitchen, and realistic pacing of reservations.

Online reviews reflect a similar pattern. Many diners mention friendly service, generous portions, and fair pricing. While every restaurant occasionally receives mixed feedback-often related to wait times during high season-the overall reputation remains strong. From my experience, visiting slightly earlier in the evening helps avoid delays, especially in summer.

Location also plays a key role. Situated along Avinguda de la Marina Baixa, it’s easily accessible whether you’re staying in La Nucía or nearby Benidorm. Parking is generally manageable, and the surrounding area feels safe and lively. That convenience makes it suitable for family dinners, casual date nights, or even small group celebrations.

Desserts deserve a mention too. The homemade cheesecake, creamy and lightly sweet, pairs perfectly with a strong Spanish coffee. On my last visit, I noticed several tables ordering cocktails after dinner-classic gin and tonics and refreshing mojitos-which added to the relaxed, holiday-like mood.

Transparency builds trust, and while menu offerings can change slightly with seasonal availability, the core selection remains stable. If you have dietary restrictions, it’s best to inform the staff in advance. They’re accommodating, but like many mid-sized restaurants, the kitchen space isn’t entirely allergen-free.

All in all, this spot manages to blend comfort food, Mediterranean freshness, and attentive service into one dependable dining experience. Whether you’re craving tapas, grilled seafood, or a well-cooked steak, the balance of flavor, atmosphere, and value makes it a place worth returning to whenever you’re near Alicante’s vibrant Costa Blanca.

  • Fantastic local food with great service at an awesome price. We opted for the menu of the day which was €15 per person. Salad & bread is included. For starters we had the chickpea, noodle & meat soup (Sopa de Cocido) and mixed entrées (Entremeses). Mains we had the lamb shank (Cordero) and Entrecôte (Steak). To finish there was a refreshing lemon sorbet. The service was super friendly and welcoming.

  • Greatest price-quality menu del dia in the region. For 15€ you will get a 3 course menu including salad, bread, paella, meat or fish, a desert and a drink. I choose the lamb which has a surplus of 2€. I recommend reserving.

  • Today was our second time visiting this amazing restaurant. Thanks for great service and always accommodating us on last minute. Daily options are a true value for the euro. We started with a salads, next lentil soup, then lamb. It was one of the best in Spain. Oh, the half bottle of wine with the meal. Don’t miss the desserts.
